Fix issues with site visibility

This article explains how to fix issues with site visibility on Google News.

To view our record of your news source information in the Google News Publisher Center, your site must be included in Google News and you must verify ownership using Google Search Console.

How to fix issues with site visibility

If you don’t see your site in the Publisher Center, follow the steps below:

  1. Check whether your articles are in our news index by doing a site search [site:example.com] on the Google News homepage. If your news site isn’t included in Google News, apply for inclusion.
  2. Verify ownership of your site in the Google Search Console. Make sure you verify ownership of the full site. For example, if your site is news.example.com, it doesn't work if you only verify news.example.com/news.
We recommend that you verify ownership using the domain name provider method. If this option isn’t available to you, we recommend you use the HTML file verification method.
If you’re serving news content from multiple subdomains (e.g. www.example.com and news.example.com), verify ownership of the top domain. Failure to do so can prevent you from configuring certain news sections in the Publisher Center.
  3. Make sure you’re signed in to the Publisher Center with the same email account that you used to verify ownership of your news source in Google Search Console.

If you’ve followed the steps above and still can't see your site, contact our team.

If you can’t see the Publisher Center and instead see the error “We are sorry, but you do not have access to this service. Please contact your domain administrator for access,” you need to contact your domain administrator to turn on services for Partner Dash. If your domain administrator has trouble accessing your Admin console, direct them to the Admin console troubleshooter.
