Updated publication name

If the name of your site appears incorrectly in Google News, or if you've recently changed the name of your site, please update your site name within the Google News Publisher Center.

Naming guidelines:

  • Omit descriptive clauses (e.g., “The Example Times: Providing Informative News for 20 Years”).
  • Do not use offensive or derogatory words in your site name.
  • Choose a publication name that is unique to your site. Commonly used names like The Times or The Chronicle can be confusing to our users.
  • Avoid using unnecessary punctuation or capitalization (e.g., ***EXAMPLE NEWS SITE!***).
Please review our naming guidelines closely before changing your site name in the Publisher Center. Failure to follow these guidelines may be interpreted as an attempt to deceive or manipulate our system and could affect your sites' inclusion status in Google News.

If you've previously submitted a News sitemap, you'll need to re-submit it once these changes take effect. To do so, please follow these steps to submit a Google News Sitemap.

Please note that this change will affect only new articles. Your old name will continue to appear on articles already included in Google News, and these articles will expire after the usual 30 days.
