AMP rendering of your Feed content

Google News automatically renders your articles in AMP when a valid AMP article is available. This is due to the strength of the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) format and an increased adoption among publishers.

Important: Provide valid RSS feeds even if you’re publishing AMP articles. Google News will continue to render articles via RSS in cases where AMP articles can’t be rendered (for example, on older software versions, slow or unstable internet connection, when the user is offline, or when AMP content is paywalled).

Opt out of AMP rendering

You can opt out of AMP rendering if you want your feed articles to always render in Google News instead. To opt out, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Publisher Center.
  2. Select your publication.
  3. In the navigation menu, click Content.
  4. On any feed section, click MoreMore and then Edit.
  5. Under “Rendering preference,” select Use feed content and then Apply.
  6. Click Save.

In order to opt out of AMP rendering in Google News, repeat these steps for all of your Feed Based sections.
