Publisher Center helps publishers configure monetization solutions through Reader Revenue Manager and manage their Google News Showcase settings.
Functionality
To set up your publication, you can use a few basic features:
- General: You can add:
- Basic information about your publication
- Details about the location of your publication's headquarters
- Verification of website property URLs
- Your publication’s contact details
Switch between publications & organizations
If you have more than one publication or organization set up in Publisher Center, you can switch between them with the Publication and Organization selectors.
Settings
To change your publication settings:
- On your computer, go to Publisher Center.
- At the top right, click Publication selector

Publication settings include 3 tabs:
- Publication settings: Manage basic information about your publication.
- Organization settings: Create, delete, and define your organization’s settings.
- User permissions: Manage user access for your organization or the publications that you’ve submitted.
Tip: You can also access these settings from the Publisher Center home screen. Under "More options," click Manage your publication and your organization Modify publication settings.
Switch between products
If more than one product is active on your publication, you can switch between them when you click Products . For example, you can switch between Reader Revenue Manager and Google News Showcase. To return to the Publisher Center home screen at any time, click Products
.
Modules
Modules customize different experiences of your publications. Certain modules might not be visible for some users.
- Reader Revenue Manager: Make it easier for readers to subscribe, contribute, or engage with your content through their Google account.
- News Showcase: To highlight issues and events, use customized panels. This enhances storytelling and keep your readers stay informed.
More options
Options help you classify your content and find settings quickly. Certain options might not be visible for some users.
- Content labels: Help Google understand your content better with labels, such as opinion, user-generated, satire, or blog. Content labels won’t affect search engine rank.
- Add another publication: Enter a URL to set up another publication.
- Manage your publication and your organization: Quickly find commonly used settings.
Glossary
The below terms allow publishers to understand how Publisher Center is organized and which content types can be submitted.
- Organization: It's the entity that hosts your publications, and it can host one or several publications.
- Publication: This allows publishers to organize and manage their content.
- What was called "Edition" in the former Producer tool, or "Source" in the former Publisher Center, is now called "Publication."
What not to expect from Publisher Center
Google News Publisher Center isn't an authoring tool or a content management system (CMS), and it's not designed to create online websites optimized for desktop web browsers.
Google automatically considers all web content for inclusion in Google News, so you don't need to apply. To be eligible, content must comply with our overall requirements and content policies.
