Customize your message for contributions & subscriptions

When you configure a reader revenue implementation on your publication, readers can contribute to your site. You can adjust how often users get a contribution request or customize the message they get when they make a contribution or purchase a subscription.

Write a custom message for subscriptions

  1. Open Publisher Center.
  2. Select your publication with a subscription or contribution plan enabled.
  3. Click Reader Revenue Manager.
  4. At the top right of “Reader Revenue Manager,” click Settings .
  5. On the left, click Content Access and then Customize your message.
  6. At the top of “Write a custom subscription request” click Edit.
  7. Under “Subscription request,” enter your custom message.
    • On the right, you can find a preview of your message.
  8. Click Save.

Write a custom message for contributions

You can customize your contribution request in Publisher Center. To write a custom request:

  1. Open Publisher Center.
  2. Select your publication with a subscription or contribution plan enabled.
  3. Click Reader Revenue Manager.
  4. At the top right of “Reader Revenue Manager,” click Settings .
  5. On the left, click Content access and then Customize your message.
  6. At the top of “Write a custom contribution request,” click Edit.
  7. Under “Subscription request,” enter your custom message.
    • On the right, you can find a preview of your message.
  8. Click Save.

Customize message frequency

You can modify how often readers get your contribution requests.

To update message frequency:

  1. Select a publication.
  2. Click Reader Revenue Manager.
  3. Under "Menu," click Conversion.
  4. In "Overview" tab, under "Prompt frequency," choose your frequency using the slider.
    • The frequencies you can choose are: 
      • Low: Readers get a contribution request approximately every 5 to 7 visits.
      • Medium: Readers get a contribution request approximately every 2 to 3 visits.
      • High: Readers get a contribution request every visit.
  5. Confirmation of prompt frequency will appear at the bottom of the page.
