When you configure a reader revenue implementation on your publication, readers can contribute to your site. You can adjust how often users get a contribution request or customize the message they get when they make a contribution or purchase a subscription.
Write a custom message for subscriptions
- Open Publisher Center.
- Select your publication with a subscription or contribution plan enabled.
- Click Reader Revenue Manager.
- At the top right of “Reader Revenue Manager,” click Settings
.
- On the left, click Content Access
Customize your message.
- At the top of “Write a custom subscription request” click Edit.
- Under “Subscription request,” enter your custom message.
- On the right, you can find a preview of your message.
- Click Save.
Write a custom message for contributions
You can customize your contribution request in Publisher Center. To write a custom request:
- Open Publisher Center.
- Select your publication with a subscription or contribution plan enabled.
- Click Reader Revenue Manager.
- At the top right of “Reader Revenue Manager,” click Settings
.
- On the left, click Content access
Customize your message.
- At the top of “Write a custom contribution request,” click Edit.
- Under “Subscription request,” enter your custom message.
- On the right, you can find a preview of your message.
- Click Save.
Customize message frequency
You can modify how often readers get your contribution requests.
To update message frequency:
- Select a publication.
- Click Reader Revenue Manager.
- Under "Menu," click Conversion.
- In "Overview" tab, under "Prompt frequency," choose your frequency using the slider.
- The frequencies you can choose are:
- Low: Readers get a contribution request approximately every 5 to 7 visits.
- Medium: Readers get a contribution request approximately every 2 to 3 visits.
- High: Readers get a contribution request every visit.

- Confirmation of prompt frequency will appear at the bottom of the page.
