About AMP content on Google News
Due to the strength of the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) format and increased adoption among publishers, Google News has moved to automatically render your articles in AMP when a valid AMP article is available.
It’s important to continue to provide valid RSS feeds even if you are publishing AMP articles, as Google News will continue to render articles via RSS in cases where AMP articles can’t be rendered (e.g. on older software versions, or when the user is offline).
How to opt out of AMP rendering
If you’d prefer your articles to always render via RSS in Google News, indicate your preference by opting out of AMP rendering in Producer by following these instructions:
- Sign in to Google News Producer.
- Click the Sections tab.
- Under Presentation options, select Rendering preference.
- Check the Use feed content box.
Repeat these steps for all of your sections in order to completely opt out of AMP rendering in Google News.
