Fix settings & report problems in Google News

Can’t open Google News
Try the steps below. After each one, check to see if the problem is fixed.
- Restart your computer.
- To see whether the problem is the site or your internet connection, check whether you can open other websites.
- Quit and relaunch your browser, then try to open Google News again.
- Clear your browsing info. Keep in mind that if you delete your cookies, you’ll also delete any saved settings.
If you still can’t open Google News, here are more suggestions:
- If you open Google from behind a firewall, proxy, or anti-virus program, turn off the program and try opening the site again.
- Download the latest version of your browser, like Chrome or Firefox.
- If you use Microsoft Windows, download and install the latest updates from Microsoft.

Personalized settings not working
- If you don't see your settings, make sure you’re signed in to Google News.
- If your Google News edition is set for another country, view that country's edition.
- Try signing in using a different account.
- If you recently renamed a conflicting account, try using the new username to sign in.
- Recreate your Google News settings in your account.
Fix problems with specific articles
If you can’t understand text on a website, the publisher might not be using Unicode (UTF-8) encoding.
Google News updates its content regularly. To refresh your page using Google Chrome, clear your cache.
Articles you find on Google News come from the websites that publish the articles. If an article has typos, there might be errors in the original text.
Some publications might require subscription or registration to read their content. Some publications offer some free content on Google News before asking you to subscribe or register.
Sites that use FCF (First Click Free) are not labeled. If your browser (like Chrome or Safari) limits the information it sends to these sites, you won’t be able to view the whole article. Refer to your browser’s support to change these settings.

- An outdated article
- A wrong headline
- An article in the wrong section
- Problems with page appearance or navigation
- A blog or press release without a label
