Make Google News your homepage

To set Google News as your browser's homepage, just follow the browser-specific instructions below.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Select the "Show Home button" tickbox in the "Appearance" section to show it on the browser toolbar.
  4. When the "Show Home button" tickbox is selected, a web address appears below it. Click Change.
  5. Click Open this page and enter https://news.google.co.uk in the text box.
  6. Click OK.

Internet Explorer 6+

How to change your default homepage
  1. Click the Tools menu in the browser.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the "Home page" section, enter https://news.google.co.uk in the text box.
  5. Click OK.

After completing the steps above, restart your browser to see your new homepage.

Firefox 7.1+

  1. Open your browser and visit https://news.google.co.uk.
  2. Click the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button in the upper right-hand side of the browser, and release.
  3. Click Yes.

Safari 3.0+ (Mac OS X)

  1. Click the Safari menu in the browser.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the Home page section, enter https://news.google.co.uk in the text box and click enter.
  5. Click Change homepage.
