How Google News stores your settings

If you create personalized settings that are stored on your computer and aren't part of your Google Account, the keywords you choose for custom sections will be sent to Google when your computer loads your personalized Google News page, but won't be associated with other personally identifiable information.

If you create a personalized News homepage using your Google Account, those settings will be stored in your account together with the rest of your account information, so you can see the same page every time you sign in.
