How to add your contact information to a Nest thermostat

You can add your contact information to a customer’s Google Nest Thermostat so that they can easily get in touch if needed.

There are two ways to add your information to a customer’s thermostat: During installation in Pro Setup, and after installation, in the Nest Pro menu. For either method, you will need your Nest Pro ID.

After you enter your Nest Pro ID into the thermostat, the thermostat will automatically download and store your company’s name, address, email address, phone number, and website.

Where to find your Nest Pro ID

You can find your Nest Pro ID by logging into your account on the Nest Pro portal. Once you’re logged in, your Nest Pro ID will be in the upper-right corner of the homepage, next to your name. It’s made of six characters: two sets of three letters or numbers, separated by a dash (for example, a1b-c23).

Note: The customer’s thermostat needs to be connected to Wi-Fi to download your information, but you can enter your Nest Pro ID at any time. Once the thermostat connects to Wi-Fi, it will download and store your information automatically.

Add your information during thermostat installation

Adding your information to the customer’s thermostat is easy to do during installation. The Pro Setup section will ask you if you’d like to enter your Nest Pro ID. Select PRO when asked if you are a PRO or HOMEOWNER to get to Pro Setup, and follow the onscreen instructions.

How to add your information after the thermostat has been installed

To add your contact information to a customer’s Nest Thermostat after it’s already installed, follow the steps below:
  1. Press the ring to bring up the main menu.
  2. Turn to SETTINGS and press the ring again to select.
  3. Turn the ring to NEST PRO and press to select.

If a Nest Pro’s contact information isn’t already stored, the thermostat will ask you if you would like to add your information. You can then enter your Nest Pro ID.

If another Nest Pro’s contact information is already on the thermostat, you will have the option to replace it with yours.

How customers can view your contact information

The customer will be able to view your information on their thermostat whenever they want by following these steps:

  1. Press the ring to bring up the main menu.
  2. Turn to SETTINGS and press the ring again to select.
  3. Turn the ring to NEST PRO and press to select.

Customers can also view your information on their phone, tablet, or computer with the Nest app. When customers are logged in, they can follow these steps to view your information:

  1. Tap or click on the menu icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Select the home that you are servicing.
  3. Select Settings icon in the upper right corner.
  4. Select Contacts.
  5. Select Nest Pro Installer.
  6. Your contact information will appear. The customer can tap on your phone number or email address to easily get in touch.
