Requirements for TV content (relevant mainly for PPHs)

Constructing the MMC for TV Mixed Mode

Mixed Mode (mid-series or mid-season transitions): Similar to regular TV shows, you will need to construct and deliver an MMC for each hierarchy level - Series, Season and Episode, while referencing their respective children. The key difference between new shows launching as NEXT GEN and continuing shows from LEGACY, is the ExperienceIDs that are being referenced in the MMCs.
The PPH will need to reference the Legacy ExperienceIDs for the Series and Seasons that are listed in the Partner Portal Offers tab. The below table highlights the key requirements for Mixed Mode deliveries:

Redeliver Series MMC - reference the LEGACY SeasonExperienceIDs (of old seasons)

New Season MMC - for the new Season being delivered in the Series

Image at season & series level

Google requires an image for every show on the series level. Artwork is no longer required on season level but optional. Episode thumbnails are not required but optional.

TV Artwork: purpose="banner" and "poster"

The MEC contains the Element/Attribute called ArtReference/@purpose.
@purpose is defined as the "Purpose of image. No Controlled vocabulary defined in this spec."


Google requires that images of type:”banner” and “poster” are referenced with the following purpose in the Series level:  

Image Type Minimum Dimensions XML Tag
Poster 600px by 600px purpose= "poster"
Banner 1000px by 562px purpose= "banner"

 

SequenceInfo in Series and Season MMC

Season MMC

The SequenceInfo for episodes has to be in the Season MMC as ExperienceChild.

Google will ignore the SequenceInfo inside the Episode MEC and honor the SequenceInfo in the Season MMC ChildExperiences and match against the episode avail number.

Series MMC

The SequenceInfo for seasons has to be in the Series MMC as ExperienceChild.

Google will ignore the SequenceInfo inside the Season MEC and honor the SequenceInfo in the Series MMC ChildExperiences and match against the season avail number.

In-episode promo content

Episodes delivered with pre- or post-roll bumpers, promos or stitched episodes (two episodes from two different shows stitched together) will be rejected. This includes any promos of the show itself.
Episodes with bumpers that reference competitive transactional services will be rejected unless Google is also mentioned.
Episodes that reference studio-owned Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) services are accepted.
