EMA requirement: Required
Please note, ContentID in EMA 1.6 is not the same as ContentID in EMA 1.7. See “Common mistakes” below for more details.
About this column
ContentID is intended to provide a content identifier for the avail line item and is used to reference a common metadata file.
In practice, this identifier should match the ContentID provided in the metadata inventory. Per the specification, the preferred encoding is Common Metadata's ContentID (e.g. md:cid:eidr-s:1489-49A2-3956-4B2D-FE16-5). However, Google will accept any unique identifier in this column and requests that partners populate this column with the same identifier used in the AltID column.
Additional Google requirements
It is acceptable to use the same ID for the AltID and ContentID.
Example:
TitleInternalAlias | AltID | ContentID |
---|---|---|
My Great Movie | MyGreatMovieAltID1 | MyGreatMovieAltID1 |
ContentID must be between 1 and 64 characters and contain only alphanumeric characters or the following symbols:
/ @ : _ . -
Common mistakes
ContentID cannot be changed after submission. Please reach out to the Support team for any questions.
ContentID in EMA 1.6 is not the same as ContentID in EMA 1.7. ContentID in 1.6 is a column for providing the EIDR Level 1 identifier. That column has been relabeled as TitleID in EMA 1.7. ContentID is a new field that is intended for providing a metadata identifier.
