About this column

This column identifies the asset and should be the Edit Level EIDR. The EditID Level is the second level of EIDR, nested under the TitleID. It typically distinguishes between editorial cuts of a title, including territory censored cuts. An Edit can be defined as any change to frames of video on the main title, body, or end credits. This level is also known as performance, ProductID, version, edit, cut, or EIDR-2. EditID is validated in the Google Partner Portal.
Example:  Theatrical - "American Gangster" 10.5240/03DE-2059-7190-C7D8-128C-7

Additional Google requirements

Google Play now requires partners to provide avails in the EMA standard specifications. An important aspect of this requirement will be to include a version specific ID* (preferably using the EIDR standard) to uniquely identify each title. Within the EMA avail, EIDR IDs identifying versions should be populated in the "EditID" column and alternative IDs must be included in the “AltID” column.

Best practices

  • EIDR EditClass versions are Theatrical, Home Video, Broadcast.
  • EIDR IDs can be expressed with or without the EIDR prefix, "10.5240/"

Common mistakes

Subs and dubs should not necessitate new EditIDs. Conceivably there is no change in the frames of video.
