About this column

This column determines the type of pricing (e.g., Tier, WSP) that is provided in the "PriceValue" column.
Example:

PriceType = Tier PriceValue = Library
PriceType = WSP PriceValue = 8.50

Ensure that all whitespaces are removed e.g. "  NRL" will throw out errors. "NRL" is the correct way.

Acceptable values:

  • Tier – [Recommended] this indicates that a label will use the PriceValue column to represent pricing terms agreed upon separately between the content owner and retailer. A price value is associated with the Tier label in the Google system. This value is accepted for Movies or TV episodic content. Seasons do not accept PriceType Tier.
  • WSP (wholesale price) – this indicates that the entry in the PriceValue column will be a wholesale price.
  • DMRP (deemed minimum retail price) – this indicates that the entry in the PriceValue column will be a retail price.

Unacceptable values:

LicenseFee, SMRP, SRP, and TPR-* – these values used for temporary price reductions are allowed per the EMA specifications, but they are not supported by Google.

Additional information

  • Avails may not successfully validate the first time you provide a new Tier, as Google might need some time to setup price mapping on our backend. If you have any questions or run into errors, please reach out to your Support contact.
  • Our recommended best practice for all content (except for TV Seasons) is to use PriceType="Tier", with the PriceValue column filled in with the appropriate tier label. In the event you'd like to update your pricing later on, prices set in this way can be updated in bulk in our system and won't require resubmission of avails.
  • PriceType = "WSP" and "DMRP" may also be used, as long as they map to a tier existing in our system. Prices set in this way will need to be changed individually by submitting new avails; this is more difficult to manage so we strongly recommend using tier labels instead.

How to view the pricing tiers that are set up for your studio

  1. In your Partner Portal account, click on 'Account Info' in the menu in the top right corner.
  2. Click on 'View pricing tiers' in the top right corner of the screen.

You will be able to see the tier labels set for your studio by following these instructions. Please reach out to your Support contact if you'd like access to the corresponding price values.

Examples of how to input pricing in Avails columns

PriceType = Tier PriceValue = New Release
PriceType = Tier PriceValue = NR
PriceType = Tier PriceValue = 2
PriceType = WSP PriceValue = 7
PriceType = WSP PriceValue = 14.50
PriceType = WSP PriceValue = 200

Common mistakes

  • Using the incorrect PriceType – if you intend to provide a Tier with a PriceValue of 1 (typically reserved for a high value tier), but instead declare the PriceType as WSP, the PriceValue will be read a 1 unit of the currency, drastically underpricing your payout.
  • Not using an acronym – the actual string of “WSP” needs to be used. Spelling it out (e.g, “Wholesale price”) will lead to an error or rejection.
