Setting Up a New User Account

To gain access to the Partner Portal:
  • You will need to be invited by an existing “Owner” Partner Portal account holder within your organization.
  • Google authentication is required for Partner Portal access.  Please link your email to a Google account before proceeding with the following steps.
  • If your company uses Google Workspace, please contact your Google Workspace administrator to enable access to the “Partner Portal” or “Partner Dash” feature.

Granting access to a new user within your organization (for Owner account users)

  1.  Click the “Add User Account”    icon at the top of the page.
  2. Input the email address of the person you want to invite.
  3. Choose an access type:
    1. Owner: Full control, including sharing the account and making changes within the Partner Portal.
    2. Writer: Ability to make changes within the Partner Portal.
    3. Reader: View-only access.
  4. Add an optional message and click “Send”, or uncheck "Notify people via email" and click “OK”.

Note that access must be granted separately for each partner account. If you require access to multiple content owner accounts (e.g. “Studio Name A”, “Studio Name B”, and so on), your email address will need to be added to each one of their Partner Portal account profiles.

If no member of your organization currently has access to a Partner Portal account, please contact our support team:  playsupport-moviestv@google.com

Troubleshooting Partner Portal Access Issues

Google Authentication and Sign Up:
  • Link your email to a Google account: To use the Partner Portal, you must have a Google account linked to the email address you are using to access the portal. If you haven't done this, please link your email and try again.
  • Check your spam folder: If you haven’t received a verification email titled “Google Verification Code” from noreply@google.com during the setup process, please check your spam folder for it.

If you still are unable to find the verification email, and you have confirmed that you’ve registered with the correct email address, please check with your company’s IT system administrator  — they may have set up rules to reject emails from “noreply@google.com” at the corporate network level.
  • Access the portal directly: If you see a white or blank page when accessing the portal from the invitation link, try accessing the portal URL directly from  https://play.google.com/movies/partners.

Browser Support and Tips:

  • Use supported browsers: We recommend using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
  • Try incognito mode: If you encounter errors in your regular browser, try opening the invitation link in your browser's incognito or private browsing mode.
  • Check your logged-in email: Ensure you are logged into the correct email account (the one linked to your Partner Portal access) in your browser.

Google Workspace Users:

  • Contact your IT administrator: Please verify with your IT administrator if your organization uses Google Workspace and if so, that they have enabled access to the Partner Portal (Partner Dash) service. You can provide them with instructions found here.
  • Use your Google Workspace email: In some cases, you might need to use your Google Workspace email address (associated with your organization) to access the Partner Portal.
If you continue to experience issues with accessing our portal, please contact our support team for further assistance: playsupport-moviestv@google.com.

Guide to the main sections of the Partner Portal

Homepage

Select your company account name from the left hand drop down menu to get started.

The homepage provides a quick snapshot of your tasks and content status:

  • Titles in Green are ready to go live or already live.
  • Titles in Red need your action. There might be missing information or steps you need to complete.

To get a more detailed view of your titles, click on any of the green or red numbers. This will take you to a list where you can manage and review your titles.

Avails summary

The Avails summary provides an overview of your content availability.
  • In-window avails: These are the content rights that are currently active (available for users to view or purchase).
  • Out-of-window avails: These rights are no longer active (expired or not yet started).

To get a complete list of avails within a specific status (e.g., in-window, out-of-window), click on that status in the summary.

Live summary

The Live summary at the bottom of your homepage provides a snapshot of your content that is currently available on our platforms.

Top Row (left to right):

  • Approved and in-window: This is the combined number of titles and territories where your content is approved and currently available.
  • Approved and out-of-window: This shows content approved but not yet within the active availability window.
  • Territories: The number of territories where your content is currently available.

Bottom Row:

Please visit the Avails section of our Help Center for information on creating and submitting Avails.

Next Generation: Offers

This section provides an overview of all your titles in the system. Please see this Offers article for more details.

Next Generation: Inventory

This section provides a granular view of all the inventory items (assets) that you have delivered as part of your content package.

When to use this section:

  • While the "Offers" page gives you an overview of a title's status in a specific territory, the “ Inventory" section is ideal when you need detailed information about the individual assets (files, metadata, etc.) that make up your content.

After clicking on an Inventory item, you can access the following information about each component asset:

  • Asset Status and Error Messages:
    • Get the current status (e.g., Approved, Pending Delivery, Processing).
    • If "Rejected," error messages will guide you on what needs to be fixed.
  • Associated Offers Link:
    • See a list of offers that the inventory component fulfills.
  • Package Link:
    • Find a direct link to the package in which the component was delivered.
  • Asset Details:
    • Language: The localization of the component (e.g., audio, subtitles).
    • Territory Start Date: When the title becomes available in a specific territory.
    • Manifest Version: The version of the manifest (content description) associated with the component.
  • Package and Asset IDs:
    • View various ID numbers (experience, inventory, ALID, etc.).
  • QC Review Status:
    • View the QC Review status for the component.

Next Generation: Packages

In the 'Packages' section, you can:
  • Check the Status: Get real-time updates on the progress of packages uploaded by your Post-Production House (PPH).
  • Explore Package Components: Click on a package to view a detailed breakdown of its contents (assets such as videos, audio, subtitles, etc.).

When to use this section:

  • While the "Offers" page gives you an overview of a title's status in a specific territory, the “Packages" section is your go-to if you need more in-depth information about a package containing multiple assets (files, metadata), such as package status and the status of individual components

While we provide this detailed information for transparency, it may not be essential for your regular title status checks. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact your PPH (Post-Production House).

This page provides insights into your packages and their contents:

Delivery and Inventory Status:

  • Know if and when a package was successfully delivered.
  • Track the status of each individual asset within the package.

Manifest Status:

  • View the manifest status (Valid, Processing, or Failed) with color-coded indicators (red=failure, orange=processing, green=success).

Package Errors and Warnings:

  • Access a list of any errors or warnings encountered during the processing of your package, for review and correction.

Experiences:

  • See a list of the experiences (content offerings) included in your manifest.
  • Get links to associated offers and information on regions where an experience is available or excluded.
  • View package-related IDs and inventory details.

Manifest Version:

  • Select package details linked to each manifest upload using the Manifest Version attribute. This also shows the timestamp of the upload.

Inventory Report:

  • Find an inventory report below the top section.
  • Tip: Click on an Experience ID to view an offer report with offers associated with that ID.

Partner Account Info

Locate Account Information:

  • Find the Account Info icon (a circle with a person silhouette) in the top right corner of the page.
  • Click on this icon to view your partner account information:
    • Content Owners: See the Content Owner information associated with your account.
    • Legacy Channels: (if applicable) View any legacy Channel data associated with your account.
    • View Pricing Tiers: Click "View Pricing Tiers" under Content Owners to access a list of pricing tier labels per territory, as outlined in your business contract.

Notifications

To receive automated email status updates:

  1. Locate and click the bell icon in the top menu bar.
  2. Select the types of updates you want to receive.
  3. Click "Save settings."
A note on Avails notifications: All users who have the ability to submit avails in your organization will receive these notifications when enabled.

Manifest Validator

The Manifest Validator is a tool used by PPHs to validate the Manifest XML files required in component delivery. This ensures that deliveries go through our system without any issues.

Downloading reports as CSV

You can download any of the lists of titles, inventory, or packages as a CSV file by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner:

Characters not displaying correctly in Excel?

Our CSV reports output Japanese and Russian characters properly in Excel 2016 for both Mac and Windows. If not, try the following:
  1. Create a blank workbook and select Data > Get External Data > Import Text File.
  2. Select your downloaded CSV report.
  3. In the Text Import Wizard, select “Delimited” and “Unicode (UTF-8)”.
  4. In the next screen, select “Comma” as the delimiter. Click “Finish” to import the file.
  5. Previous versions of Excel may not work with our reports. If you are not using Excel 2016, consider free alternatives such as Google Sheets and LibreOffice.
