How to adapt 1.7.2, the avails format used by Google
If your avails are currently in a 1.6 format, it’s easy to upgrade to 1.7.2 by following these steps:
- Download the EMA 1.7.2b Movie/TV Avail Template. Please refer to the Movie Labs website for other versions and additional information on avails.
- Open the spreadsheet and copy and paste the content from your 1.6 file over into this new template
- You’ll see that a few column headers are new/different (e.g. ALID column, AllowedLanguages and HoldbackLanguages, AssetLanguage). Line up the columns to fit the headers.
- Save your 1.7.2 spreadsheet.
- Go to the Partner Portal, validate and upload your avail.

A good reason to upgrade: Google will be using this template for the foreseeable future so any upgrades beyond 1.7.2 are not required any time soon. This means you only have to make the switch once and then keep using 1.7.2 for the next few years.
Google now requires all avails to be submitted using EMA 1.7.2b (not 1.7.2a).
