During the TMobile outage I wasn't aware TMobile had an issue early and I wasn't receiving messages as expected. I turned off chat features and ever since they would not turn back on.

I've reinstalled both carrier service and messages. I've force closed them and clear storage. I've been on the phone with TMobile.

I verified all my spam blocking id features are OFF with the carrier and I've disabled spam protection in messages when setting it up again.

I do think there are quite a number of these TMobile users posting the same problem since the outage and wonder if the issue isn't in the jibe side of things.

I sent logs yesterday and I really miss my ince useable rcs message app.

There was T-mobile outage yesterday and i believe everything got fix . If still having issues with chat feature not connecting please send the feedback from the message app so Message team can look into the issues .

Hello I have had the same issue.  I have tried following the procedures to the T by going into airplane mode, clearing out Carrier Services, and Messages. No Luck. I called tmobile and had them reset my RCS profile, Hard reset my phone, reset the network on my phone, and replaced the new SIM card. None of these things worked. Anyone else have any other ideas? I have a Pixel 3a Android 10.

I'm going through the same thing, after the outage I have not been able to use the chat features, its just stuck on "setting up, trying to verify number" i chatted with google support for 3 hrs and tmobile tech support for 1 hour went went up to a level 2 tech for both just to be told they don't know,, and been going back and forth here as well, I've been getting replies from support here but something strange...support here asked me to send feed back through messages app with system logs which I've done twice yet they haven't received my feedback yet...wondering if its the app itself causing conflict.

I've done a factory reset, replace my sim, tried my sim on a different device and still get the same issue, uninstalled reinstalled carrier service and the message app.....nothing. FRUSTATING!

Same issue for me.  I have tried everything including a new sim card.

I also put in another active sim card in the same account and that number validated immediately.

I think the issue is in the Jibe side.

Still not working for me after nearly a week since the outage. Any word on when we can expect a fix?

I just tried turning off chat features from this Google link and it says they can't turn it off.  https://messages.google.com/disable-chat

I thought it I could turn it off, I could revert my number.  I will have to call t-mobile for the 4 to time. ☹️

I actually sent the logs more than once. Still no response, fix, or joy. Tmobile says they are perfect and I should probably every back to the Samsung app if I want advanced services to work as google appears broken. Except when I crank up my Samsung app I don't see my blue dots for other Samsung users with the Samsung app on the same (tmobile) carrier. I don't see an update from google for carrier services or messages (I left the messages beta). I can't even get read receipts no matter what. 

If this is the future we are in trouble.

Mine just stopped working today and will not verify my number again.

Repeated Scott's steps and sent link tof logs via feedback.

Any solution to this?  It started working a few weeks ago and stopped.  

I have all updates including the Aug 5th, 2020 security update.
