Trying to search for a conversation in Messages web app by a word

Question

I am trying to find a conversation from about 6 months ago I had with a specific person originally through my Android phone which is now paired up with my laptop. According to the Help section, there should be a "Search" option when you are in "Google Messages for Web app" but I am not seeing it. I don't want to have to scroll back through 6 months of conversations to find the word I am looking for which happens to be the name of a business I need. Has anyone else had this problem of trying to do a search by a specific word?

I would suggest for you to send feedback to the developers of the application so that hopefully the above issue can be fixed.
 
Please follow the instructions below.
 
Open the messages application then go to the top right hand corner where your profile icon is tap on that then go to Help and feedback then click on send feedback.
