RCS was working with my provider, Freedom Wireless, using an initial temporary number. I then ported a number over and RCS continued to work with the old number that I no longer owned. After resetting everything (SIM card, messages app, MANY times), it now tries to validate RCS with my ported number, but never succeeds. This has been going on for a month, so its not just a delay. I've tried every suggestion/procedure I could find searching, multiple times each. Seems like the number hasn't been setup properly with RCS as the previous provider didn't have it. We had 3 phones of various types, and all have the same problems with the ported numbers and worked fine with the temporary number.
Is there a way to validate if a number has been configured on the server side for RCS? The Messages app gives no useful info to determine what's going wrong.

Request a new SIM card from your carrier with the permanent number on. Chat features enabled straight away after weeks of trying anything and everything else. If sim card number in phone settings - status - sim card differs from what your phone number is it will fail

What happened in the end? Did you get it working and did you need a replacement SIM card?
