You can send and receive photos, videos, or audio files as multimedia messages (MMS) in Messages.
Notes:
- On devices running Android 6.0 and up, you'll need to give Messages permission to send or get files. Learn about app permissions.
- Some of these steps work only on Android 6.0 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.
Send pictures, videos, files, or GIFs
- Open the Messages app

- Open or start a conversation.
- Tap Attach

- Select if you want to send photos, videos, files, stickers, or GIFs. You can also use the camera to take a picture or start a recording.
- Find and tap the file you want to send in the list. You can scroll up or down.
- Tap Send

Note: Photos or recordings that you take in Android Messages aren’t saved on your device.
Send voice messages
- Open the Messages app

- Open or start a conversation.
- Press and hold Mic
.
- Record your message.
- Tap Send
.
To cancel a voice message, swipe left on the chat or close the message.
Send your location
- Open the Messages app
.
- Open or start a conversation.
- Tap Attach
.
- Tap Location
.
- To send your location, tap Send
.
