You can share your real-time location directly from Google Messages. This feature allows your friends and family to know your location for the duration of your choice. You can choose:
- For one hour
- Today only
- Until you turn this off
- Custom duration
This provides peace of mind or helps you coordinate meetups easily.
Share your real-time location from Google Messages
To share your location in a chat:
- Open the Google Messages app

- To share your location, open a conversation with the person or group that you want to share it with.
- Tap Attachment

- To confirm the updates to your Google Location Sharing settings, tap I accept. This is only applicable when sharing the location for the first time.
- Choose the duration of the share that you want to start from either:
- For one hour: Your location will be shared for an hour from the moment that you start sharing.
- Today only: Your location will be shared until the end of the current day.
- Until you turn this off: Your location will be shared indefinitely until you manually stop sharing.
- Custom duration: You can set a specific time period for sharing. The duration can't last more than 24 hours.

Real-time location 
.To share your location with someone who has already shared their location with you:
- Open Google Messages
- To share your location, open a conversation with the person or group that you want to share it with.
- Tap the message with your contact's location.
- Next to your name, tap Share.
- At the bottom, set how long you want to share your location.
- For one hour: Your location will be shared for an hour from the moment that you start sharing.
- Today only: Your location will be shared until the end of the current day.
- Until you turn this off: Your location will be shared indefinitely until you manually stop sharing.
- Custom duration: You can set a specific time period for sharing.
- Tap Send
Tip: You must be signed in to your Google Account to use this feature. If you aren't, you'll be prompted to sign in.
Stop sharing your real-time location
To stop sharing your location with someone who has shared their location with you:
- Open Google Messages
- Open a conversation with the person or group that you've shared your location with.
- Tap the message with your location.
- Next to your name, tap Stop

While end-to-end encrypted messages can only be read by people in your chat, Google Find Hub Location Sharing is powered by Maps and processes your location to provide the Location Sharing feature. It is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
