You can organise your inbox with filters in Google Messages. After you click the search box at the top of the app, filter options are viewable. Filter options can be used for all message types, including text and multimedia messaging and Rich Communication Services (RCS).

To organise your inbox, you can filter your messages by:
- Unread
- Known and unknown
- Senders are considered known if they are saved in your contacts.
- Starred
- SIM 1 and SIM 2
- If you have a dual SIM setup on your phone, these filters will show.
- The filters allow you to view messages sent to a specific SIM card.
- Images
- The message has an image file attached.
- Videos
- The message has a video.
