Star messages and pin conversations

Add stars and pins to access your important messages and conversations:

• Star messages that you want to save.
• Pin conversations to the top of your message history to make them easier to find.

How to star messages

1. Open Google Messages .
2. Open the conversation that has the message that you want to star.
3. Tap and hold the message that you want to star.
4. At the top, tap Star .

Optional: To remove the message from your starred messages, tap and hold the message tap Star .

How to find starred messages

To find starred messages across your conversations, in your conversation history, choose an option:

• Tap Search conversations Starred .
• Tap More options Starred.

To find a starred message in a specific conversation, open the conversation and choose an option:

• At the top, tap Search conversation Starred .
• At the top right, tap More options Starred.

How to pin conversations

Important: 

• You can pin up to three conversations.
• The ability to pin conversations isn't available in India.
• You can only pin messages from your mobile device. You can view pinned messages on your mobile device and on Google Messages for Web.

1. Open Google Messages .
2. Tap and hold the conversation that you want to pin.
3. At the top, tap Pin .

Optional: To unpin the conversation, tap and hold the conversation tap Unpin .
