Set up a Conditions Générales de Vente (CGV) for Shopping Actions (France only)

Shopping Actions France

Conditions Générales de Vente (CGV) are conditions you provide to the customer for the sale of your products. Before you can sell your products on Shopping Actions France, you need to set up and generate a CGV in Merchant Center.

How it works

  • In Merchant Center, Google provides all merchants with a CGV template that can be customized. The template includes fields that you need to fill out to complete the CGV (such as your company name or address).
  • Merchant Center generates the CGV from the information that you entered.
  • After you’re approved to sell on Shopping Actions France, Google then provides your CGV to the customer when they visit your store, checkout from your store, or view their order history.

Instructions

Fill out the CGV template

  1. Sign in to your Merchant Center account.
  2. Click Shopping Actions in the left-hand navigation menu.
  3. Click Product and business information.
  4. Next to "Conditions Générales de Vente (CGV)," click Terms of Sale setup.
  5. On the "Terms of Sales" page, provide the following information in the form:
    • Company name: The full company name, including all legal extensions (GmbH, Inc. and similar).
    • Company address: The full address for your company.
    • Phone number: Valid phone number for customers to reach you.
    • Contact address: Valid physical or email address for customers to reach you.
    • VAT ID: Your company’s VAT identifier.
    • Registration ID: Your company’s commercial trade register entry identifier.
    • Share capital (optional): Your company’s share capital.
    • Mediator contact: The contact information for your mediator in case of a customer dispute with your company. You can provide the mediator's email address or a link to their website.
  6. Click Create Preview and Accept. This opens a window where you can preview the text of the CGV.
  7. Click the checkbox next to "I agree to apply the new Conditions Générales de Vente (CGV) to all orders on the platform," then click Save.

After you click "Save," Merchant Center generates a PDF copy of the CGV, which you can then view and download from your browser.

After you create your CGV, you can proceed to the next steps in selling your products on Shopping Actions France, which includes accepting the Terms of Use for Shopping Actions and reviewing your store for any issues.
