A marketplace is a commerce site that hosts products or websites of individual sellers on the same domain. For example, seller.example.com or example.com/seller.
If you manage your own website and store and it's not part of a marketplace, then these guidelines don't apply to you. This article explains how to submit your data if you're a marketplace or a seller on a marketplace.
If you're an individual seller on a marketplace
Your product data should be submitted directly from the marketplace.
If your marketplace doesn't submit feeds on behalf of sellers, then you can submit the feed yourself, but you might need the marketplace to help you verify and claim the marketplace website URL. Also, make sure that all of your products comply with the Shopping policies.
If you're managing sellers on a marketplace
- Submit product data for each seller with a multi-client account. Submit product data on behalf of your sellers rather than having each seller submit their product data individually. We won't accept submissions from your individual sellers. To manage these various sellers, separate each seller as a sub-account in a multi-client account.
- Check your email. We'll send you information about account updates and quality suggestions. So sign up with an email address that you check regularly.
- Help your sellers. Because you'll be using one account, you'll need handle any questions that your individual sellers have about Google Shopping.
- Comply with Google Shopping policies. All products in each of your sub-accounts must comply with the Shopping policies. Otherwise, sub-accounts or even your entire account could be deactivated.
- Avoid duplicate products. Make sure that you don't submit the same products for the same seller account. You're allowed to submit the same products only if they're from different sellers with different seller accounts.
If you're managing sellers as an agency
Agencies are third parties that submit items to Google on behalf of individual retailers. Each individual retailer is a separate entity and has a unique domain for its website such as example.com.
- Check your email. We'll send you information about account updates and quality suggestions, so sign up with an email address that you check regularly.
- Comply with Google Shopping policies. All products in each of your sub-accounts must comply with the Shopping policies. Otherwise, sub-accounts, individual retailer accounts, or even your entire account could be deactivated.
