Check time zone and reboot settings

To set up one device at a time, go to Manage Google Meet hardware.

To manage Google Meet hardware from the Google Admin console, you need to make sure your time zone is set correctly. You can restart your Google Meet hardware at a scheduled interval.

Set time zone and restart intervals

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenSettings.
  3. Click Timed reboot.
    1. In the Device local time for reboot field, select the time you want the device to restart.
    2. In the Reboot frequency field, select the number of days before a restart takes place. For example, if you want to restart your devices every 5 days, select 5 days.
    3. Click Save. If you configured a child organizational unit, you might be able to Inherit or Override a parent organizational unit's settings.
Note: For more information on which device settings apply to which device models, go to Unsupported admin settings for non-ChromeOS device models.
  4. Click Time zone.
    1. In the System time zone field, verify or correct the selected time zone setting.
    2. In the Automatic time zone detection field, select the setting you want to apply.
Note: When you use automatic time zone detection, the network configuration can impact the location detection. For example, this can occur if the device is connected behind a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The device might be physically located in a particular region, but the IP address could be associated with a completely different region.
  5. Click Save. If you configured a child organizational unit, you might be able to Inherit or Override a parent organizational unit's settings.
Note: Once the time zone and reboot frequency are set, you have the option to change them.
