My computer settings are set up to output audio through my headphones, my Google Meet settings are set up to output to my system default, which is then headphones. I've tried different configurations of these settings (Default & Default, Default & Headphones, Headphones & Headphones). I've tried changing browsers (Safari & Chrome). No matter what I do, I cannot get Google Meet to play the audio from the meeting through the headphones I have plugged in. As far as I can tell, people can still hear me when they are plugged in, but I cannot hear them. I also know that when I unplug my headphones I can hear them and they can hear me. I'm very confused by this issue. I've restarted my computer, I've restarted my browser, I'm updated on all involved software. Please help, I'm at a loss.

Welcome to the Google Meet support community.
Are you using headphones or headset?
You might need to set your system to headset if that is the case.
And set your microphone to headset too.
Can you hear youtube videos with your headphones/headset plugged in?
Thanks,

I am having the same problem. I can hear youtube videos but not Google Meets. I have had had three Google Meet sessions where they have worked but six where thet have not. Go figure! Mine are wireless headphones with built in mic. I have tried to select them as the go-to device and Google Meet shows that they are selected. When they don't work in Google Meet I immediately switch to a youtube tab and they work.

Google meet seems to filter out any other media with my Sony headset: Spotify, youtube, whatevers on will mute because of Google Meet. How can I make it work that I can just hear whatever the audio output of my laptop is?
