Feature Suggestion: view more faces in hangout/meet

Hangouts is great, and I would love to continue using it for work, but the limited view in hangouts for remote team meetings is sending me more and more to zoom. The ability to view more participants at once would most definitely bring me back to hangouts (4 people in the tile mode is very few when you have meetings of 20+ people).

Hi all, Meet is now rolling out the option to see up to 16 meeting participants at a time in Tiled layout on the web.
The layout will show active speakers.

Hello Sarah Caswell. Thanks for posting to Hangouts

When making suggestions for new features/improvements, it is best practice to use the 'Send Feedback' link from within the product itself as that goes straight to the developers.

Please note that you will NOT, under most circumstances, get a reply.

Please be sure to leave separate Feedback for each suggestions as they may go to different development teams. Thanks

I've put together  video tutorials one for each of the add ons mentioned above. Plus another extension (Tactiq) which transcribe meeting notes and Attendance (Which takes attendance in the meeting)

Tactiq also transcribes the meetings note https://youtu.be/oDxfk20DASI

I have the extension and still can't see all of my kids. What am I missing?

I also have the extension. It worked on Friday, showing many students, but today it didn't work!

I had the complete grid view of all 27 students since I installed it, including yesterday morning, then it suddenly changed for my last two classes yesterday afternoon and now I can only see 5 at the same time.  Most of the teachers from my school have experienced the same issue.

Same happened to me today, I want to see the answer to this question too.

A 3rd party extension is not a solution. That's a work-around. My son's class is using Zoom even though his school uses G-Suite because the Gallery/Grid view is built into Zoom, works on mobile, and does not require any additional effort on the teacher's or parent's part to get everyone seeing everyone else. This is a MUST HAVE feature! If Google misses out on delivering this during the COVID-19 stay-at-home periods, then many potential users will learn to permanently rely on other video conferencing solutions.

The plug-in with gridview worked great in Meet, but very recently the maximum amount of visible users is maximised to 10 persons, which is a real disadvantage.
An update: Meet will be adding a grid layout that lets you see up to 16 participants at once. You can learn more here.
