Allow Meet to use your camera and microphone

Meet video calls need to use your computer's camera and microphone so you can start your video meeting.

To join a video meeting, install the latest version of a supported web browser, and do these tasks:

Allow access the first time you use Meet

  1. In a web browser, enter https://meet.google.com/.
  2. Start a meeting.
A message appears at the top of the video meeting window.
  3. Click Allow. (You only need to do this once.)

Change the setting to allow access

If you aren’t asked to allow access or if you blocked access before, you can change your settings.

  1. In a web browser, enter https://meet.google.com/.
  2. Start a meeting.
  3. In the top right, click Camera error Disallowed media.
  4. Click Always allow https://plus.google.com to access your camera and microphone.
  5. Click Done. The video meeting automatically connects. If you don't see the meeting reload, exit and re-enter the meeting.
