This update makes your meeting room experience smoother, more intuitive and collaborative:
- Familiar and intuitive: If you use Meet on desktops or laptops, you can find the touchscreen controls instantly recognisable. Jump right into your meeting without the need to search for buttons.
- Focus on collaboration: You will spend less time managing technology and more time in productive discussions as the new controls are designed to make the prioritised buttons easier to find.
- Consistent Meet experience: Enjoy a seamless and predictable interface whether you join from your personal device or a meeting room.
For ease of use, the updated design organises controls into two main areas:
- Simple view: This is the default view when you're in a meeting. It provides access to the most frequently used core controls, like:
- Mute or unmute microphone
- Turn camera on or off
- Send reactions (emojis)
- Closed captioning
- Raise hand
- More actions
- Increase or decrease volume slider
- End call
(Touch controller UI refresh: In-meeting experience)
(Touch controller UI refresh: Annotated in-meeting experience)
- More actions menu: If you tap More actions
, you can find secondary controls used for specific situations, which include:
- Access chat
- Camera controls
- Presenting content
- Managing participants (people list)
- Changing layouts
- Starting or stopping recording
- Activities (polls and Q&A)
- Settings (audio, video and more)
(Touch controller UI refresh: More actions menu)
(Touch controller UI refresh: Advanced view)
Tip: The UI on Google Meet hardware touchscreens shows a modern design on Mimo Vue HD, Mimo Mist, Logitech Tap, Logitech Tap IP and Lenovo Series One touch controllers.
