You can use Google Meet to stream a meeting live on YouTube.

This feature is currently available to the following Workspace editions: 

• Enterprise Starter
• Enterprise Standard
• Enterprise Plus
• Education Plus
• Teaching and Learning Upgrade
• Workspace Individual subscriber
• Google One subscribers with 2 TB or more storage space

Eligibility to stream

To live stream:

• The YouTube channel must be approved to live stream. It can take up to 24 hours to get approval. Learn how to start live streaming.
• The YouTube channel that you can use must be connected to the meeting that you're in. Learn how to add or remove access to your YouTube channel.
• Only people who can use the linked YouTube channels can start the live stream from Meet.
  • If host management is off: anyone in the host's organisation can start a live stream.
  • If host management is on: only the hosts and co-hosts can start a live stream.

Tip: To make it easy, make the person who wants to start the live stream a co-host. Learn how to add co-hosts in Google Meet.

To start a live stream:

• Join the meeting with the same email that you use for the YouTube channels that you want to stream to.
• Since you can't start a live stream from a mobile device, join the meeting from a computer.
• If you don't have Google Workspace Individual or a Google One Premium membership, your company's admin needs to turn this feature on for you. Learn how to turn live streaming to YouTube on or off.

Start or create a YouTube live stream from Meet

1. In a Google Meet call, at the bottom right, click Activities .
2. Select Live streaming  Stream with YouTube.
3. On the 'Event info' panel, select the channel that you want to stream to, then click Select or create an event.
4. If you create a new event, enter the following details: 
   • Event title 
   • Privacy level 
   • The language for captions displayed on YouTube
5. Review YouTube's Terms of Service.
6. Click Start streaming.
7. From the panel, copy the live stream link. 
8. Share the link with anyone that you want to attend your YouTube live stream. 
9. To end the live stream, click Stop streaming. 

View YouTube live stream analytics

• During a meeting: Hosts and co-hosts can review YouTube Analytics data in real time. Learn how to see your live stream's metrics.
• After a meeting: The meeting host and co-hosts receive an email with a Google Sheets report with the following info:
  • Start time
  • Stop time
  • Live stream duration
  • Likes (public)
  • Views (public)

Tips: 

• You can't pause a YouTube live stream that has been initiated from Meet. You can end a live stream and create another one from within the same meeting. 
• The streamed video from Meet might be uploaded to YouTube and be accessible to users for later viewing. If necessary, the channel owner can delete the video after the meeting.
