Use translated captions in Google Meet

You can use translated captions to translate English to or from these languages:

• French
• German
• Portuguese
• Spanish

You can use translated captions to translate English into these languages:

• Dutch (beta)
• Indonesian (beta)
• Japanese (Available on desktop and Android) (beta)
• Mandarin (Simplified) (Available on desktop and Android) (beta)
• Swedish (Available on desktop and Android) (beta)
• Turkish (beta)
• Vietnamese (beta)

Eligibility

Requirements to use translated captions

Translated captions are currently only available for the following Workspace editions:

• Business Standard
• Business Plus
• Enterprise Starter
• Enterprise Standard
• Enterprise Plus
• Teaching and learning upgrade
• Education Plus

Turn on translated captions 

1. On your Android device when you're in a meeting, to display call controls, tap the screen.
2. Tap More controls   Settings .
3. Turn on live captions .
4. Select the language of the call .
5. Tap Save.
6. Tap Translation language .
7. Select the language to translate into.
8. Tap Save.
9. To return to the main screen, tap Close .

Tip: Translated captions display on-screen in your selected language.
