Important:

  • When you create a Q&A in a live stream, it’s automatically available to both meeting participants and live stream participants. Hosts can disable Q&A for live stream participants from their computer.
  • You can have a maximum of 500 questions per Q&A.
Requirements to use Q&A in Google Meet

Important: Q&A in Google Meet is available for users with these Google Workspace editions:

  • Essentials 
  • Business Standard
  • Business Plus 
  • Enterprise Starter
  • Enterprise Essentials
  • Enterprise Standard
  • Enterprise Plus
  • Education Plus
  • Teaching and Learning Upgrade
  • G Suite Business
  • Nonprofits
  • Workspace Individual

Meeting participants can ask questions. Unless deleted, all meeting participants get your questions.

The meeting moderator can:

  • Hide your questions.
  • View all your deleted questions.
  • View deleted anonymous questions, but they aren’t tied back to you.

Ask a question

Important: When moderated Q&A is turned on by the meeting host, questions you ask will be hidden from other participants until the host approves or rejects them.

When you ask a question, everyone in the meeting gets a notification.

When you ask a question anonymously, your details are hidden from:

  • Other meeting participants
  • The moderators
  • Your Workspace admin

The question is shared in its entirety with Google. The question is later anonymized or deleted, subject to our data retention policy.

  1. On your computer, at the bottom right, click Activities and then Q&A and then Ask a question.
  2. Enter your question and then click Post.

Tip: To ask your question anonymously, check the option “Post Anonymously.”

  1. Tap More controls More and then Activities and then Q&A and then Ask a question.
  2. Enter the question.
  3. Tap Post.

Tip: To ask your question anonymously, tap the checkbox next to “Post Anonymously.”

Find, upvote, or delete a question

  1. On your computer, at the bottom right, click Activities and then Q&A.
  2. Find, upvote, or delete, a question:
  • To sort questions by popularity or chronologically, next to "Popular," click Down arrow  and select an option.
  • To view everyone’s questions, click All questions.
  • To view only your questions, click My questions.
  • To upvote a question, on the question, click Upvote .
  • To delete a question, on the question, click Delete .

Tip: Participants can delete their own questions.

Find, upvote, or delete a question on mobile
  1. Tap More controls More and then Activities and then Q&A.
  2. Find, upvote, or delete a question:
  • To sort questions by order or most upvotes, next to "Newest first," tap Down arrow  and select an option.
  • To view everyone’s questions, tap All questions.
  • To view only your questions, tap My questions.
  • To upvote a question, on the question, tap Upvote .
  • To delete a question, on the question, tap Delete and then Remove.

Tip: Participants can delete their own questions.
