Update regarding ARCore installation request on Maps for Android 0 Recommended Answers 0 Replies 2549 Upvotes

Over the weekend we discovered an issue affecting Android devices that did not have ARCore installed that prompted people to download or update ARCore even if they were not using the AR feature. We've temporarily disabled the AR feature as a result and will be rolling out an updated version of Google Maps on Android with the fix in the near future.
Please note that Pixel devices largely remain unaffected and therefore Pixel users should see AR working as normal today. You might need to restart your device to see the feature again.
