How can i use the shortest route on Google maps. Because my Google map take me to the longest rou

My Google maps take me to the longest route when I use the navigation. How can I change it that Google maps shows the shortest route.?

Are the roads for the shorter route on Google maps?

Please, provide an example of the current driving directions and what you would expect. Provide screen captures to ilustrate the issue if creating the desired route is not possible.

Google map shows the longest route as default when I travel to Kumarakom Heritage from kottayam.

Shortest route screen shot is added below.

How to change the default route to shortest one.

Hi, sorry for chiming in late, but it appears you may have accidentally toggled the "Avoid Highway" option. Therefore it is taking you through the small roads to avoid route 42. I am not sure how to change the setting on a computer, but on a phone, go under (Settings>Navigation settings>Avoid highway). Turn the option off, and you should be good to go.
