We're excited to announce that Google Maps on Android will soon display your speedometer information - so you can see how fast you're going right within the app.
Speedometer is available globally for Android users.
This feature is ON by default, and here are the steps to turn if off if you want.
- On your Android device, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap Menu Settings Navigation settings.
- Under "Driving options," turn on/off Speedometer
If the speed limits feature is available in your location, the speedometer in the app will let you know if you’re driving too fast. The speed indicator will change colors if you go over the speed limit.
Note: Speedometers shown in the Google Maps app are for informational use only. Make sure to use your vehicle’s speedometer to confirm your actual driving speed and always be careful while driving.
We hope you enjoy this new feature! Safe Driving !
