Street View 'See Outside' black shadow bars are infuriating 1 Recommended Answer 5 Replies 16 Upvotes

I searched for Beauty Bar Lounge, Larchmont, NY and clicked on 'See Outside' for street view. There are thick black shadows bars along the top and bottom that make it hard to see the full picture. The bars go away whenever there is 5 seconds without activity and it's annoying that I have to wait 5 seconds every time I want to see a full picture. Please stop doing that. Regular street view has a relatively light shadow bar only at the very top of the picture, which is irritating but not infuriating, I could live with that but ideally you'd just get rid of the bars entirely they are a big annoyance. Just show me the pictures unfiltered. I hope someone from Google's Street View team is reading this.

Thanks for your reply. I think Google should remove them because otherwise it's harder to see the pictures. The workarounds aren't as convenient as just clicking the picture for where I searched. I'm worried that by marking your answer as an answer Google Maps team won't see this. They should see it. It's annoying and I want them to read my feedback on it.

Hi termsrv,
Nobody from Google would see your post here, Google employees do not participate in this public forum.
There is no good mechanism to provide general feedback for this type of Street View issues.
You could report the Street View image, from web search desktop, for Beauty Bar Lounge and leave an explanation about your dislike of the darkened areas of the image but I do not know how effective that feedback would be.

I don't think the above comments are true.  I tried waiting 5+ seconds after adjusting my street view and the black fade bar does not go away.  I also tried opening Google Maps direct and going to the same street view and the bar across the top is still there.
Why can't we toggle that off?  It ruins a clear picture for a screen grab, and it has no actual function.

Hi Jason,
The fade out after 5 seconds still works at my end for the street view of the business in this thread and a few other street view of businesses chosen at random.
Could you please provide an example of a business listing where the dark bands do not disappear after 5 seconds?
There are no dark bands on Google Maps.
Please, indicate also the OS and browser you are using, or phone brand and OS if you are accessing them through a mobile devioce.
