I have restarted my phone, I have cleared the cache in Google Maps, and I have uninstalled the updates.
You cannot blame this issue on the devices of multitudes of users with all types of different phones running various versions of different OS. This is a problem with Google and needs to be fixed instead of just pointing fingers.

could you please provide more specific details about the problem?
 
the more details you can provide, the more likely we would be able to help.
 
 
how many different specific devices / cases are you aware of? what are the device makes, models, operating system versions, google maps versions?
 
have you tried using other location-enabled apps and/or services? other mapping apps, for example? which ones, and what were the results?
 
i have looked at google maps on various ios devices running ios versions between 12 and 13, and various android devices running android versions between 4 and 7, and do not see the same symptoms you describe.

I have the same issue and have done everything that is supposed to help. The information you are asking for is it is across all android phones, very rarely works, I am a delivery driver, I can restart my phone and it works for the trip I'm on, but not for the next. This needs to be fixed. Maps worked fine up until a month ago. Now it doesn't work enough to continue to use it. All google has to do is look up this issue on Google and they will see a lot of complaints about this same issue. FIX!!!

as indicated, i have checked a number of android devices, and do not see the problem as described.
 
could you please let us know the make, model, operating system version of your device, and the google maps app version?
 
could you please provide url web links to some of the complaints you refer to?
 
what specific search terms did you use to find the complaints?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I haven't been able to use Google Maps for about a month. I have also cleared my cache, deleted cookies and uninstalled the updates to no avail. It will pull up the route but as soon as I hit start nothing happens. It doesn't talk even though the volume is all the way up. It then says GPS signal lost even though I have full signal for everything else I am doing. I need to use Google Maps for my business to get to new client's homes. If this continues, I'll just switch to another GPS app that actually works even though Google Maps was my preferred app before this. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW!!!

Me, too! I've cleared maps, cache, etc. I have a Samsung droid and suddenly started to freeze. Thinking it was the garage causing the problem i hit start when i was down the block.  It locates the car, gives me one correct piece of navigation and then never sees the car again.  It's like it stalls.
Soooo frustrating. Been happening for almost a month

I have the same issue so does my husband, started 1 month ago, it will still run but the map doesnt move with me and I have to exit the map and restart it for it to work again. We both have S8 samsungs.

I have a galaxy S8+.   Very frustrating I have as well tried clearing device Cache,  Google Maps Cache. Sometimes it will work for a bit and then Goole Maps freezes.  Waze is also seems to be affected but this issue.

Samsung Galaxy S8+
Android version 9
Bell Canada
Google maps Version 10.52.2
