How do I display all streets in Google Maps

When I do a search for a business, e.g., search and address, I see street names, but no lines for the streets some nearby arterial roads may be displayed. Sometimes I get the option to display "browse street view images". But not always. It used to be that all streets were displayed if your are zoomed in but now, unless the "browse street view images" option, if it's available, I don't know how to see them any more. I don't mean that I want to see the images of the houses on the streets, I want to see the lines on the map of the streets. Please see the difference when I click on "browse street view images" .

Hello,

The "White" lines you are seeing are the street lines. Unfortunately there is not a way to change the way they display.

Its probably just me, but a map that won't show street names upon request is pretty lame...

I accidentally found out how TO ACTUALLY SHOW THE STREETS AS LINES. Go to the upper left to the informaiton where you put the street name you start with and the destination. At the top left is a hamburger/menu symbol (3 horizontal lines). Just click on that but DON'T ACTIVATE IT so it opens anythingg. You will notice that your map now turns gray to show that your are working on the menu, BUT the streets also show up nicely due to the contrast that has been introduced. It works.

Me again...I just found a better way to show street lines: BETTER YET: just click, not open, the little gold man at the lower bottom and the street lines become very clear!

I think Bing is also the answer. So disappointing after liking Google maps for so may years. Perhaps they should concentrate on basic customer service rather than Quantum computing?

Agreed! A map that doesn't show streets is not a streetmap. At the very least, make it a display option.

Good Lord! Google, show the lines again. I have to say, clicking the hamburger menu to show a gray overlay on the map is what I wish it would look like by default. Please make this contrast an option for the rest of us who want to see the streets! Also, thank you to the person for the tip on clicking the "Gold Man" - also a good "work around".

Yeah we wonder why Google makes changes like this but remember you're not the customer you're the product
