PN JN,

Hi my partner has just got a new phone - it’s a Samsung galaxy e50 and I am on Iphone7 - it’s saying he can see me and his phone is saying I can see him? But I can’t see him, he can see me though. We had no probs when we both had iPhones - but now nothing! We were trying for 3 hours last night to resolve the problem! Can anyone PLEAEE help??? All it’s saying on my phone is he is offline

Had this issue but found that adding the phone to the google account made it show up. This was under :https://myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols/location on a desktop.

Do you go to my account on the device they are using or can it be from any device they log into?

Has to be the Google account of the person whose Location is showing as Offline.  It appears the person should use their laptop/desktop rather than device itself.  Make sure you click the down arrow to see device names and make sure box is checked.  This is an issue that happened suddenly when the iPhone took an update.

I got it to work after changing my phone by:

1. Remove old phone from Activity Control device list
2. Add new phone to the list
3. Disable and re-enable sharing

Google, this was bad.

How do you get it to work if it's a friend with an iPhone who shows on my Google maps as "offline"?

This also happens when the person sharing their location turns off location, often to save battery.

My boyfriend and I were having this issue as well when he got a new Google Pixel. I could no longer see his location even though according to Trusted Contacts, he was sharing it. We figured out how to fix it by opening Google Maps on his phone and selecting the profile picture in the top right corner. Then we went to the Location Sharing settings. Here, a notice appeared at the top of the screen that said his location was not being shared with a "FIX" button. Once we selected that button, everything is back to normal! Hope this helps others with this issue.
