Google Maps - Send as text message

The Google Maps send directions to phone feature no longer is allowing me to send as a text message. It now send as a push notification.

How can I get directions sent as text messages again?

Hello

As I can see people are going to continue posting here about this issue, you can raise and Submit Feedback using this reference.

If enough people ask for it to be reinstated, then it maybe added back into Google Maps.

THANKS GOOGLE GUESS I WILL USE ANOTHER APP FOR MAPS NOW SINCE I HAVE TO PLAN OUT SEVERAL TRIPS AHEAD OF TIME - WAY TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT DIDNT EXIST

Google discontinued the option of sending directions through text messages & unlikely to store that.

Please restore the text-to-mobile function ASAP. Notifications are cleared often, plus I need to have a record of my travels. That was a really bad idea

I agree with others, please restore this function. The push notification disappears and I have to start all over again when I want to use the directions again.

Bring it back! I sent directions to my phone then forwarded it to my mum because she hopeless with technology. This was the only way for her to use Google Maps. There's not much point in having a Google account with so many other search engines around and other mapping services. Passwords?....pfhhhh! Most have that option with internet security providers.

I am glad I am not the only one who finds this unusable. Currently I have to send to email and work around that way, which is super clunky. Similar to many people - pushing to my phone is a one time deal and then the information is lost.

I used the text feature literally all the time. It makes zero sense that it was removed.
