I'm not seeing Text as an option for sending directions to my phone anymore, how do I get it back?

I'm not seeing Text as an option for sending directions to my phone anymore, how do I get it back? I see email and push notifications, but I text a bunch so I can get to them throughout the day, which I can't even find old directions using push notifications and email isn't practical. Thanks!

Same here. I noticed Chrome on PC updated. I just used the text option 2 days ago and now it's gone. Only options are to send to the phone, which shows up in the notification panel or to email. The notification panel is unreliable since things get cleared. Not sure where it would go if that happens.

Yes, I tried send to phone then I couldn't find it as it got cleared. I hope this gets fixed, the text was the best option for me.

any updates on this, I too have this problem. It was fine day before yesterday, now I see "iphone", but is not mine or at least I'm not receiving any notifications. Previously, it actually displayed my phone number.

I'm having the same issue on my iPhone. Used to be able to send directions to listed phone number and it would show up on phone as message. Then just a couple days ago it disappeared. Now it sends to a phone icon which ends up as a notification. I would much rather have them sent to messages instead because I can always go back to that message and restart navigation. If someone calls when I'm following a route about half the time the navigation stops and doesn't restart. It's easy to go back to that message and restart. Notifications are gone.

Thinking this might be Google initiated change since poster below is having problem on PC with Chrome and I am having exact same problem on Mac using Firefox.
