Move the "Mount Desert Island" text on the map

From a neighbor: "Google has decided that the best place to put the pin for "Mount Desert Island" is off in the woods at the end of Russell Farm Road in Bar Harbor. So, when tourists type Mount Desert Island into their Google maps, it brings them flying down this dead end road. People will go down private driveways and turn around and then fly back out. Sometimes they stop and ask where Mount Desert Island is... and sometimes "Is the lighthouse down here?" Since that is the photo Google has put for MDI."
I'm suggesting Google move this text away from a small rural dead end road.

Hi, User 15844872474403921972

Welcome to Google Maps Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

However, is this the correct link to the Point of Interest, "Mount Desert Island, Maine"?

Nevertheless, can you provide any official reference for the correct placement of the pin?
The reference should be a PDF map through the ".gov" domain.
Can you look for that?

That is the correct text I am referring to. The whole landmass is Mount Desert Island, not just that point, so there is no correct placement for the pin. I have looked through various usgs.gov and the location of "Mount Desert Island" varies, see attached jpeg for one label that spans much of the island

Thanks for your reply.

Although the place is an island, Maps has to show a marker at someplace.
That happens even with cities & regions also.

Further, can you look for a PDF reference?
The team doesn't accept references through the interactive maps of USGS.

Move the marker into a slightly different place that's not settled. I cannot find a PDF reference, but here is Mount Desert Island on a nps.gov map for Acadia National Park
Notice how the name isn't located on one particular spot.
One of the problems is that the "Directions" to "Mount Desert Island" has people driving down the dead end road, then trespassing on private property.
I know you can't "Fix stupid" but is there a way to redirect people to the Acadia National Park headquarters visitor center, with it's large parking lot

Thanks for your reply.

Moving the marker to another place without any substantiating document will generate many more posts informing "how the location is incorrect".

Nevertheless, could you locate a PDF document instead of JPG?
