Hi Treva,
Sorry but Google Maps does not offer this functionality.
There are other companies that do provide GPS solutions with this functionality, they do charge for this information as there is quite a lot of data to maintain.

C'mon Google, us truckers will pay for a good map or just partner with one of the other two.

BUY THE TOM TOM 6200 NAVIGATION APROX £350.00:
YOU CAN PROGRAM FOR CARS, VANS, SEMIS OR ROAD TRAINS.
HEIGHT WIDTH AND LENGTH OF ANY VEHICLE.
GOOGLE MAPS WON’T LIKE THIS BUT TOMTOM MAPS ARE FAR BETTER.
I HAVE USED TOMTOM FOR THE LAST 15yrs BEATS GARMIN AND ANY OTHER NAVIGATION SYSTEM.
AS A FELLOW TRUCKER I KNOW IT WORKS. GOOD LUCK.

Truckers would subscribe to a Google maps truck version.
I gave up on a Garmin Dezl unit for the following reasons:
Routed me through a subdivision, because the subdivision had not declared "no trucks", but the truck route was "no trucks" unconditionally, instead of time of day restrictions, weekend restrictions, etc
The troopers are loathe to declare accidents on the interstates, to avoid convoys of backroad trucks, so that feature of accidents notification is useless.
Perhaps there now are interactive truck navigation units, but until then, I'll use Google maps.
All I ever wanted was an up to date MS streets and trips.....

At the moment Google Maps does not support a Truck option for its Navigation mode.
The latest Garmin devices are getting a good name.
