How do I view all businesses/locations Google Maps knows about in an area?

I have a small area and I would like to see every single business that Google Maps knows about in that area.

I know that at least Maps knows about at least 6 of the businesses, as searching for them works, and right-clicking and choosing "What's Here" will have them come up. However, I'm unable to get Maps to show everything as icons on the map.

How do I get Google Maps to make all businesses visible in a given area?

Hello Connor Bell,

All the places are not shown up on the Google Maps, some times you need to zoom or need to search by its's specific name. It depend on the Place Labels and determined by the Google Local Algorithms, that choose what business places are shown as Place Labels. There should be an option for this. I am often trying to find a business that will not show up, so I key off other local businesses as landmarks and this is not currently effective in Google Maps. They should allow you to just see everything possible in an area by selecting from a menu or button on screen. Plus some businesses get excluded from search because google does not allow them to be listed as multiple businesses at once. For example I was looking for a hydraulic repair and they guy was located in the back of a used car dealer, but he said google thinks they are one businesses even though he told them many times they are separate entities at the same address - he is not found...

I believe that Google stopped showing all businesses (unless you search for the business by name) because they now only show businesses that have payed to appear. This is extremely unhelpful for users who are trying to find the names of businesses in a given area.

There is just too much information for Google to show everything.  This is why algorithms make decisions as to what to show based on many factors, with a primary one being what the user has searched.
