How to Hide Labelled Places for New Searches?

I have accumulated many (useful) labelled places in my hometown which I want to keep but turn off/hide when searching for new places because it currently looks cluttered and is hard to see the new location/s.

I know how to turn off saved lists with the three dots (although a universal turn off/hide button would be great) but this isn't the case for my custom labelled places.

I found these instructions below, but the turn off all labels altogether which is not what I'm looking for. I want to simply 'hide' my custom labelled places so I can see my new search places easily.

Instructions to turn off all labels:

Step 1
Visit the Google Maps homepage (see Resources).

Step 2
Enter the location you'd like to view a map of in the top search box, then click "Search Maps."

Step 3
Hover your mouse over the "Traffic" button located on the right side of the map. This shows more label options.

Step 4
Click on any labels you'd like to hide to remove the check mark next to them. The labels disappear from the map when unchecked.

Thanks!

Hi, Sinatra

Welcome to Google Maps Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

The steps you mentioned are helpful to hide the labels of the "Places of Interests" & not the custom tags you created. Further, that happens only in a satellite view.

Regretfully, there is no option to hide the custom labels.
You have to delete those altogether if the labels are cluttering the view.
Alternatively, you can use Maps in incognito mode.

Nevertheless, you can suggest the desired feature through the help & feedback route.
Here is a link explaining how to do so.

Hi सीके ,

Thanks for providing the extra information regarding hiding labels only applies to satellite view, and providing the suggestion link.

Also, thanks for the incognito mode suggestion, I'll try that.

Cheers
