Trajectory maps

I downloaded the Google maps app for iPad. I selected the display public transport setting. However, it does not seem to work or rather it only shows me the icons but it does not show me in the map the trajectories of the means of transport (e.g. metro, tram etc). Is there a way to visualize the trajectories of the transports maybe also of different color?

hello fab 4763,

welcome to the google maps community forum!

which specific cities are you querying about?

also, could you please explain in greater detail what you mean by "it only shows me the icons but it does not show me in the map the trajectories of the means of transport"? posting some screenshots may be helpful in better illustrating what you mean.

please keep in mind that not all public transit services may be reflected. it may depend on whether the service providers / transit operators decide to work with google and provide the necessary data.

Hello Thank you for your answer.

So as you can see from the screenshot the only things that I see on the map are the icon (e.g M of metro). However, for me would be much better to see the trajectory on the map. The city I’m talking about is Lyon (France). It’s complicate to understand how many trajectories are in the city.  Would be much better a coloured line that identify each transport.

hello fab 4763,

you had the transit layer enabled in google maps when the screenshot was captured?

also, could you please further explain what it is you mean by "see the trajectory on the map"? by that do you mean high visibility lines outlining transit routes?
