Can I have a map without local restaurants etc on it? I realize Google Maps is a free service, and p

Speaking about my DESKTOP version of Google Maps. I recognize that Google Maps is a free service, however I wish there was a way that I could toggle OFF the restaurants, gas stations, hotels, masseurs, toy stores, clothes stores, lawyer's offices, hair stylists, "Amazing White Smile Studio" (WTF?), This shit takes up so much real estate on the virtual page. I assume these are purchased listings/ads that are necessary in order to keep Google a Free Service. Is it possible for me to pay for the service of being able to TOGGLE off some of these categories?

On the iPhone version of Google Maps, there are selections I can make: restaurants, Gas, Groceries, etc.
But even WITHOU the restaurant button selected, I still have restaurants that show up on my screen. Again, Can I pay for a service that doesn't have anything unless I select it?

Thanks

And another question about political boundaries on world maps, that I think I have to start a new thread for.

Hi,  Chitra F. Mojtabai

Thanks for your reply

As we use a free product, we have to stay with the current features in that.

Nevertheless, you can suggest enhancements.
The standard way to do so is through the help & feedback route.
Here is a link explaining how to do so.

Once a sufficient number of users request the same feature, that may become available later on.

Hi, Chitra F. Mojtabai

Welcome to Google Maps Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

Have you tried using Google My Maps?
There, you will get an option to have nine different types of base maps & one of them does so without showing any points of interests.
Can you please have a look?

Thank you so much for the fast reply!
I DO see MyMaps...
And I do see the 9 choices..
The first 3 are the ones that are choices in my regular Google Maps View, all of which have the ads.
Light Political has no street names
Mono City has no street names
SIMPLE Atlas Does have street names, but no colors to indicate parks etc
Light landmass has nothing indicated, just the landmass
Dark landmass has nothing indicated, just the landmass
Whitewater view still shows all the Car Repair ,  lawyers office, everything

So, the SIMPLE ATLAS VIEW is the one you would suggest to me?
Thank you, it is not exactly what I was hoping for, but you are correct that Google does provide it.
So again thank you.

I don't know if i have to write this in a different forum page, but I also want to be able to look at a map of Europe for instance, and have the countries be different colors. Like an atlas would have. maybe just a transparent overlay indicating the countries. It would make looking at Exclaves and Enclaves much easier.
Is this somehow an option somewhere?

Thanks again.
