Google map giving directions in Japanese

Last week I entered the address I was going to and Google maps started giving directions in a foreign language I didn't know. How do I get it back to English? I have English set in the app and in the Note 9.

However, did the detailed steps appear in some foreign language or the voice navigation was something in a language other than English?
Can you please clarify?
