How do I change the time for traffic like on the old maps?

In the older version of maps you could change the day and time of day to get average traffic information, which was a really helpful tool that I used all the time. I'm not seeing any place to get the same information in the new maps however. Anyone know if it's doable, and if so how to do it?

I would like to know the answer to this query as well.. there seems to be unfortunately several features of the new Google maps missing. If anything, I had hoped that a newer version would be able to finally calculate the traffic at a specified time based on previous traffic data, instead of just displaying the colored "traffic" layer.

Hi all,

the new Google Maps is just a preview to see how the map could look in the future. Most if the known features of the classic Google Maps are not yet supported.

Fail would be not clicking on 'classic maps' to get the functionality you're missing.

You can click the blue "Help and Feedback" bar in the top right corner, then select the link that says "return to classic google maps". Then you can use the same function again. It'll also ask you if you want to make the change permanent while you're in the old view, that obviously is up to you if you want to or not.

I can adjust the traffic for time of day, but I lose the point to point directions...where the last version overlayed the traffic. How can an update lose functionality and make things harder? Lame.
